Pat Hall's Organ Group lent a unique instrumentation to the music of Bill Evans on their critically acclaimed previous effort for UR, Time Remembered. This new release features the same incomparable group of musicians in a stellar performance at Brooklyn's Shapeshifter Lab during the 2015 UNSEEN RAIN, bringing once more an alternative interpretation to the music of that revered figure of jazz piano, Bill Evans. Trombonist and leader Pat Hall has released several groundbreaking recordings on UR including Multiple Question Choice, K3rnelPaN1c, the aforementioned Time Remembered and as co-leader of the Ornette repertory unit, Happy House. 2014 Chamber Music America New Jazz Works Grant Recipient Greg "Organ Monk" Lewis is a leading figure in the current jazz scene and is a regular at New York's 55 Bar and Minton's where he performs with his Quintet. Guitarist Marvin Sewell has played with Cassandra Wilson, Gary Thomas, Jack DeJohnette and Jason Moran. Drummer Mike Campenni played with Bob Mintzer, Ted Curson, Gordon Edwards and Stuff, Frank Wess, Houston Person and many others. This ensemble's fiery, swinging performance is not to be missed.
